Kris Aquino has once again shown her trademark warmth toward fans, assuring everyone that she’ll never turn down a request for a photo. However, the Queen of All Media gently reminded the public that because of her ongoing health battles, certain precautions are necessary — including the presence of alcohol and a distinctive yellow mask prepared by her nurse.
The actress and host shared the update on her Instagram page last November 1, where she also hinted that she’s finally preparing to settle into her new home later this month.
“I need my wheelchair, no sun exposure, I bathe seated — yet by November 13, my checklist will be complete,” Kris wrote. “If you see someone in a colorful mask and an orange wheelchair, shopping for groceries or toilet paper — that’s me. Hindi ako snob. My nurse will have ethyl alcohol and a yellow mask ready if you want a picture.”
Living Carefully, But Staying Connected
Kris, who has been living with multiple autoimmune diseases since 2016, emphasized that every layer of protection is important to her recovery. According to her, she is currently battling 11 autoimmune conditions, five of which are life-threatening — making even a simple public encounter a health risk.
Despite her condition, Kris continues to engage with her supporters and loved ones. Recently, she was spotted attending the birthday celebration of her close friend and fashion designer Michael Leyva, where fans noticed she appeared to be wearing a compression bandage on her left arm.
A Heartfelt Tribute to Noynoy Aquino
In the same post, Kris also reminisced about her late brother, former President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III. Without directly mentioning Tarlac, their hometown, she shared how his room in their family home had “the least light” — a detail that made her reflect on his quiet personality.
“Noy, your room still gets the least light. In heaven, hindi ka na pikon, diba? The boys and I will sleep there. We miss you — your face, and your ‘Behave, Kristina, Joshy, Bimb!’” she wrote, expressing her longing.
Finding Comfort Back in Tarlac
Kris also talked about how much Tarlac has changed since her last visit. She praised the progress she saw in her hometown — from new banks and gas stations to hospitals and restaurants — saying that it reflects strong local leadership and a thriving community.
“I’m no economist,” she said, “but I told Alvin [her longtime assistant], ‘prosperous na! Maganda ang trabaho ng mayor at governor.’”
Seeing all these developments, Kris even playfully told Alvin to start preparing their luggage and look for schools and therapy options for her sons, Bimby and Josh.
“Check schools for Bimb, SPED therapy for Kuya, and maybe find a house to rent — just to see if Tarlac could be our new home. At nakita ko pa, may S&R!” she added, with her signature humor.
Still the Queen — Just More Cautious
Though she has been away from showbiz for several years, Kris Aquino remains one of the most beloved personalities in Philippine entertainment. Her openness about her health journey and her constant connection with fans continue to earn her respect and affection.
While her battle with autoimmune diseases has forced her to slow down, her optimism — and willingness to take photos with fans, mask and all — proves that Kris Aquino’s spirit remains unbreakable.
