Kris Aquino, fondly known as the Philippines’ Queen of All Media, continues to face her health struggles with remarkable strength, transparency, and faith. After undergoing another round of medical procedures earlier this week, the 54-year-old actress and television host took to social media in the early hours of Sunday, August 24, to thank both her medical team and her loyal supporters who have been unwavering in their prayers for her recovery.

Just days earlier, on August 20, Kris had a port-a-cath implanted — a small device used to provide long-term intravenous access for patients undergoing continuous treatments. The procedure was performed one day before the nation observed Ninoy Aquino Day, honoring the death anniversary of her late father, former Senator Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino Jr.

In her latest Instagram update, Kris gave her followers a glimpse of her new implant while sharing how she is adjusting post-surgery. She revealed that she is now staying at Makati Diamond Residences, which she praised for its design and comfort, describing it as “luxurious Japanese simplicity.” She also acknowledged the doctors, nurses, and medical staff from St. Luke’s BGC who have been guiding her through her health journey. With her usual wit, Kris admitted to often pestering her doctors with endless questions, even joking about when one of them might finally invite her to visit his fruit farm.

But beyond the medical updates, Kris’s message carried a deeply personal tone. She once again expressed her immense gratitude to the fans and prayer warriors who have been keeping her and her sons, Josh and Bimby, in their thoughts. “Thank you for caring enough about me, my sons, and the improvement of my health to keep us in your prayers. In one of my recent Bible devotional readings, your actions are called UNMERITED GRACE. Thank you,” Kris wrote.

The actress has been candid about the toll her autoimmune diseases have taken on her body and spirit. In earlier posts, she confessed to deliberately staying away from social media updates for a while, fearing that the worsening of her condition might cause some fans to lose hope. “On purpose, matagal akong hindi nag-upload,” she admitted. “I have to admit, if I told you what was happening, some of you may stop praying because my autoimmune diseases were increasing in number & my life-threatening ailments needed me to make a brave choice. Trust me, it’s difficult to accept every night when I sleep that there may be no tomorrow for me.”

Despite these fears, Kris remains determined to fight — especially for her children. “If I wasn’t their mama, matagal na akong sumuko,” she declared in another post, reaffirming her commitment to continue her treatments no matter how difficult they may be.

Looking ahead, Kris also revealed that she is preparing to undergo an even more aggressive treatment regimen in the coming weeks. This will include another lengthy infusion session, combined with daily medication and injectable therapies that she described as “one of the strongest autoimmune immunosuppressants.” Due to the severe weakening of her immune system, Kris explained that she will need to live in preventive isolation for six months in their family compound in Tarlac, a place she and her Cojuangco cousins fondly call “Alto.”

With her usual candor, Kris acknowledged the harsh reality of her health journey but emphasized that her strength comes from her faith and the unwavering support of those who continue to stand by her. As she creates the hashtag #LabanKris to mark this chapter of her battle, she reminds everyone that while her journey is far from easy, she is holding on tightly to hope, prayers, and the love of her family and supporters.
